Project Title: Educational project "Nestlé for Healthier Kids"

Project Description:

The "Healthy Nutrition School" program is an educational initiative aimed at promoting a culture of healthy eating among schoolchildren. Implemented in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the program involves collaboration with government, scientific, and public organizations. It includes the development of educational materials, teacher training, and the organization of events. A special study conducted in Astana and Almaty with 275 second-grade students demonstrated the program’s effectiveness. The project contributes to forming healthy habits from an early age and supports the development of partnerships for sustainable health education.

The Kazakhstani and Uzbekistani programs “Healthy Nutrition School” and “Health Routes” are part of Nestlé for Healthier Kids, a global initiative. Its main goal is to raise health awareness in society by integrating a special innovative educational program into the operations of educational institutions, aimed at teaching children aged 7–10 the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle.

Implemented since 2013, the programs were developed with the support of education experts. Partners include the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Departments of Education of Almaty and Astana, among others.

The program includes two main components: an extracurricular course and a system of annual educational events for children, families, and educators.

The extracurricular course is conducted by teachers using specially developed educational materials, and additionally, the program includes a teaching methodology competition for educators, culinary and environmental contests for children, and photo contests for families
