Project Description:
The “Transformation: A New Perspective” project was launched following the company’s integration into a new corporate group. This transition brought serious challenges: high operating costs, misalignment with the group’s best practices, and a growing risk of employee turnover — all threatening the company's market competitiveness. In the context of intense competition in the metallurgical industry, there was an urgent need to radically improve economic efficiency and workforce productivity.
The project focused on enhancing economic performance by eliminating eight types of operational waste and increasing labour productivity. A comprehensive express-diagnosis and business process analysis was conducted, which allowed the company to identify inefficiencies, reduce employee overload, and improve product competitiveness by optimising production costs.
The company implemented benchmarking and automation, streamlined its management structure, and applied Lean manufacturing tools. Measures were also taken to reduce absenteeism and staff turnover, while actively developing leadership capabilities among managers and optimising the wage structure.
Project Results Exceeded Expectations:
- 11% reduction in workforce size (based on the approved staffing plan)
- 4.46% decrease in employee turnover
- 19% increase in average employee income
As a result, labour productivity improved by 51%, and $327,000 was saved from the payroll budget, with a projected annual economic effect of $1,090,000 in the years to come.
This transformation not only delivered measurable business impact but also laid a strong foundation for sustainable growth and competitiveness within the Group.
